May calmer heads prevail

This is a very interesting article from The Nation, framed as an open letter to Obama. In it, Tom Engelhardt describes many of the President’s faults, in a way that is both pragmatic and rational, and very compelling. One example:

After all, you were a community organizer and a constitutional law professor and now, if you stop to think about it, here’s where you’ve ended up: you’re using robots to assassinate people you personally pick as targets.

Many of his assertions are ones I agree with. This particular fault has been characterized elsewhere as the Lethal Presidency.
